The markets have traded in both positive and negative territory for the past 2 days. The Dow was down by over 100 points yesterday and closed with a loss of 60+. Today, the same index opened nearly 50 points higher, traded down by as much as 80 points, and is currently near the flatline. The markets try to find their direction as earnings season officially kicks off today. Alcoa is set to report at market close. Earnings have been good in recent quarters and with how much the Fed says the economy is improving, that trend should continue. The jobs numbers will be released tomorrow morning.
Gold is up $0.40 at $1,225.90 an ounce. Crude oil is up $0.27 to $92.61 per barrel. The buck is mixed. The dollar last traded at $1.3587 to a euro; $1.6457 to a British Pound; and 104.880 yen to a dollar.
