Metal Market Update: Volatility Creates Opportunity
The only clear fact about silver right now is its volatility. Over the past few hours, prices have surged 13%, only after a sharp 39% drop — from a high near 121.7 down to the mid-70s — within just 32 hours. That’s an extraordinary move, even by commodity standards.
The key question is whether silver can reclaim the 100 level and resume its upward trend, or if it will consolidate below that threshold. As usual, the market is full of opinions — and while some will prove correct, others won’t.
My focus remains on data, structure, and disciplined risk management rather than speculation.
If you’re holding metals as a long-term position for the next decade, stay focused on that objective.
If your allocation to metals is around 5–10% as a hedge for times when equities underperform, maintain that focus. Large market participant such as Ray is talking about allocation ranging from 15 to 25%. Time will tell. But if your goal is to make a quick profit in the short term, best of luck.

Both gold and silver continue to reflect heavy participation from institutional players, including banks with long histories in the commodities space. The recent price action suggests that some of these large entities may have required a sharp correction to stabilize internal exposures — a dynamic worth monitoring, though not something to overemphasize.

For now, I’m marking the January lows as a technical level to review and potentially adjust long exposures, with risk management as the guiding principle. I expect volatility to stabilize in the near term, and my team of bots is closely analyzing the price action differences across Asian, London, and U.S. trading sessions to identify who currently holds the stronger hand.
Precious metals can create or destroy wealth within days, especially for traders unaccustomed to their pace. If you’d like to discuss how to position your capital strategically in an environment like this, I invite you to schedule a personal call. Together, we can align your portfolio exposure with your long-term goals while managing volatility effectively.
